1) Autism: The Myths, the facts and all you need to know
Whilst Autism is a term that most are familiar with there are many misconceptions wrapped around it. This workshop builds a foundational understanding of what Autism is, dispells myths, and delves into key characteristics whilst beginning to look at helpful approaches.
2) Autism: Communication and social interaction
Some individuals on the autism spectrum require help with communication. The level of support can vary from challenges with communicating basic needs to understanding social settings and interactions. This workshop shares helpful approaches covering the entire spectrum of support required.
3) Autism: Sensory processing
We all constantly process our surroundings throughout our senses but for some on the Autism spectrum sensory processing can be difficult and even painful at times. It is vital for us to understand how sensory processing can be affected and how we can best help in overstimulating or understimulating environments.
4) Understanding and supporting behaviour
What is behaviour? Why do we see it? What is happening in our brains and bodies when we are finding things difficult? Most importantly, how do we as the adults in children’s lives best support behaviour and create approaches that equip them to help regulate?. This workshop explores all of these topics and much more around behaviour.
